Dava Casoni, founder and co-president, has a breadth of experience as a practicing attorney, entrepreneur and an actor. Born and raised in New York, Dava studied management at Boston University on a U.S. Army R.O.T.C. scholarship. Graduating with a B.A. (Political Science) and B.S. (Management), she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and attended U.S. Army Transportation Officer Basic Course at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Thereafter, she went on to Cornell Law School and earned a J.D. and LL.M. in international and comparative law, having spent a summer studying international law at the Sorbonne in Paris.
Ms. Casoni began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable James T. Turner, of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Following her tenure on the Court, Ms. Casoni was first associated with Bingham McCutchen’s business department, next with Pillsbury Law’s corporate securities group and most recently with Milbank Tweed’s Global Project Finance group. Ms. Casoni’s practice at these three global firms covered a variety of matters including initial public offerings, bank and venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, project finance transactions, general corporate and securities matters.
In addition, she taught entertainment law to budding film producers at American University. She is admitted to practice law in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington, D.C. Creatively, she has worked commercially as a voice-over artist, appeared in a recurring role on HBO’s “K Street” and in a supporting role in an independent feature film.
Martina Lotun, founder and co-president, hails from Sweden where she was top of her class in college and received a BFA and graduated cum laude at Gothenburg University, The School for Theatre and Opera and where she worked professionally at Boras City Theater and Ostgota Teatern. While still in school, Ms Lotun received the Dag Hammarskjold scholarship allowing her to study Disarmament Affairs at the UN in New York.
Following graduation, Ms. Lotun was awarded a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship to come to the United States and continue her theatrical education. She studied at Stella Adler Conservatory and The School for Film and Television in Los Angeles, receiving completion certificates from both schools. Martina, fluent in six languages, began her career working partially in Spanish at LTV, Latin Television, in New York, where she wrote and produced "LTV Spotlight," and "The Latino y La Gringa." She has also taught acting both in Sweden and in Los Angeles, where she was part of a bilingual outreach program, East LA Classic Theatre, for youth in troubled areas in Los Angeles, Santa Ana and San Bernadino.
In addition, she worked as a Career Consultant and researched, planned, scheduled and conducted motivational seminars (in several languages) in Europe, Australia and the US. Prior to moving to the United States, Martina trained in a traditional Swedish massage and healing therapy called Swedish Body Balancing. Following her work at LTV, she continued her therapeutic training and is currently working towards her Masters in Hypnotherapy and a Ph.d. in Motivational Psychology. Ms. Lotun is a licensed Body Balancing practitioner and certified Hypnotherapist. Creatively, she has performed in lead roles on stage, in commercials and in independent film.
